Michelle Nicolle is a First Lady of Australia Jazz. Australian Bell Award winner for Jazz Vocal Album of the Year and three-time Mo Award winner, Michelle Nicolle has commanded attention since winning the National Jazz Award at the Wangaratta Festival of Jazz and Blues. A jazz singer in the true tradition – a creative and masterful improviser with the technique to match any instrumentalist. Her apparent ease at difficult and varied improvisation bring to mind the skills of singers like Betty Carter, Mel Torme or Ella Fitzgerald yet her sound is absolutely Michelle Nicolle.
