Tessie Overmyer has established herself as one of the most exciting, dynamic saxophone players in the Australian jazz scene, rapidly gaining recognition for a maturity that appears well beyond her years.
Recently completing her studies at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, she has performed with the likes of Mike Nock, Andrea Keller, Will Vinson, Barney McCall, and Sandy Evans and has appeared at numerous festivals, including the Wangaratta Festival of Jazz and Blues (Vic), the Sydney Conservatorium International Jazz Festival (NSW), and the Perth International Jazz Festival (WA).
Tessie will be joined by good friends and musical collaborators Chloe Kim on drums and Jacques Emery on double bass, and they will be playing all original music written by Tessie. The trio explores the daring improvisations, colours, and grooves that arise when the unique musical voices of the band members are combined.
